Obituary for Vincent Mario D'Amico

Vincent Mario D’Amico MD, a Hartsdale resident, died November 14, 2017 at the age of 75. He was born March 23, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Antonio and Grace D’Amico.
On August 26, 1967 he married Mary Mullin in Plainfield, NJ.
Dr. D’Amico was an Obstetrician/Gynecologist at White Plains Hospital for the past 44 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary, of Hartsdale, his children, Michael Anthony D’Amico and his wife Danielle of Charlotte, VTand Matthew Morris D’Amico and his wife Jennifer of Hartsdale, NY and his 5 grandchildren, Alexander R. D’Amico, Sebastian A. D’Amico, Natalie F. D’Amico, Luke V. D’Amico and Sophia C. D’Amico.
In addition to his two sons and 5 grandchildren, Dr. D’Amico helped bring thousands of children into the world. His joy was found in his family and his patients and their families. These were Dr. D’Amico’s life work and he committed everything he had to them.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 18th at the Woman's Club of White Plains from 12:00 to 3:00pm.

I just saw this, and am saddened to learn Dr D’amico passed. He was one of my favorite Obgyns I called on when I worked as a pharma rep back in 1972 to 78, when he first went into practice. I admired him much and stayed in touch with him for many years. Tom Thurlow, noblesville indiana.

Vinny and I were old friends. Exact same age we went to Lafayette high school, and NYU undergrad. He went to NY college Medical school and I went to the Bologna University Medical school. We were smart handsome and good looking. He became Gyn doctor and I became the Director of Rheumatology of NY U Medical center. I married Rosetta and he Mary. We had great children,and grandkids

I just learned of the passing of Dr. D'Amico and I am beyond shocked and deeply saddened. My sincerest condolences to his family. I so loved this man. He was a great doctor and a great listener and he always made me happy. What a rare and beautiful soul, so kind and so compassionate! He delivered my first son & they say "you always fall in love with your gynecologist" and I was no exception! I moved away and so I lost touch, but he will forever be in my heart with fond memories of his wisdom and his wit! Rest in peace, you dear sweet man, you made a difference in my life and I will be eternally grateful.

I was devastated to hear of this wonderful man passing; heaven gained an angel but the world lost a gem. He was a wonderful doctor who safely brought two of my children into the world and took great care of me as his patient. He was the only doctor who was able to help me with my migraines when even neurologists could not. He was kind and SO funny (I still giggle at comments he made 18 years ago!) and I will always be grateful that I knew him. He will always be remembered and I will always make sure my girls know about the incredible man who helped me to bring them into the world.

I have been a patient of Dr. D'Amico's for 30 years. He was thorough and considerate. He was not only a great doctor, he also was up on the latest nail polish colors. When I was pregnant with my daughter, and a little nervous, he made me at ease by looking at my toes and saying, "Is that the color Figi on your toes?" He always had a funny joke or anecdote to share. My condolences to the entire D'Amico family. Thank you for sharing him with us. I hope that your memories of him during happier times are a source of comfort to you at this difficult time. I will miss him.
