Richard C. "Richie" Marranca
Richard “Richie” C. Marranca, 92, of White Plains, NY, passed away June 14, 2017. He was born October 22, 1924 in White Plains to Nick and Carmela Marranca. Richard proudly served in the United States Army during WWII (1943-1945). On September 14, 1947 Richard married his wife Marion Zangari at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in White Plains. She predeceased him in 2003. For over 50 years Richie owned his own landscaping business. He was a former member of ROMA AC in White Plains.
Richard is survived by his two daughters Marion (Michael) Fanelli of Valhalla, and Karen (John) Rappa of West Harrison, his sister Anna Vertullo of Port Chester, two grandchildren; Lauren Borrelli and Michael (Joanne) Fanelli, and four great grandchildren; Scarlett and Georgia Borrelli and Vinny and Frankie Fanelli. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, along with his cherished friend Sue Franze. And friend Ann Rago. Richard is pre deceased by his brother Charles Marranca in 1958.
Our father will be remembered for his love of gardening, collection of tools, and willingness to “figure out the job”. Also he was extremely generous towards all who knew him.
