Erica Leigh Farland
Erica Leigh Farland, 27, of Ossining, NY died on February 6, 2017. Erica was born in White Plains on December 18, 1989 to Colleen Douglass Zanicchi and the late George Walter Farland. Erica earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry and her Master’s Degree from The New School for Social Research in New York City. After graduation, she pursued a career in the retirement industry at Pentegra Retirement Services in White Plains. She achieved several industry designations awarded by the American Society of Pension and Professionals & Actuaries. She was about to sit for the Certified Pension Consultant exam.
Erica will be deeply missed by her brother, Douglass Farland, her mother Colleen Zanicchi and her step-father, Michael Zanicchi. In addition, she is survived by her loving grandparents, John and Patricia Douglass of White Plains, Robert Farland of Florida, and Maryellen Farland of Arizona, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will take place Wednesday 4-8PM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist church with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal rescue organization on her behalf, as her beloved dog, Tyson, was her best friend.
