Mary, a graduate of St. Gabriel High School in New Rochelle, received her B. A. degree from the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and was awarded a Master’s degree in Education by Fordham University in 1962. On June 29, 1963, she married John J. Mauro of White Plains. Mary will be remembered as a loyal wife and devoted mother. When her children were younger, Mary enjoyed being a spectator at all of their athletic events. She had an open-house policy for all of her children’s friends, and hosted numerous holiday meals and birthday celebrations. For a woman of Irish descent, she made a delicious lasagna. Throughout all of her health issues, she remained kind, caring and generous, always making time to lend a supportive ear.
