Obituary for
Anna M. Brown

Anna May Brown, 84 years old, was born in Aiken, South Carolina, the youngest daughter of John Farrell Brown and Georgianna Wooden Brown, wife of Robert Brown for 35 years, passed away after a long illness on September 13, 2016.
The family relocated to Mt. Vernon, NY in the summer of 1934, Anna was two years old. Anna began her formal education in the city of Mt. Vernon, NY.
She graduated from Edison Vocational and Technical High School. She continued her education and graduated from Monroe School of Business and Westchester Business Institute in Westchester County. Anna began her employment working as a Receptionist at California Packing in Bronxville, NY. Anna also worked in many departments at Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, NY. She retired after 35 years as a Medical Administrator. After retiring, she travelled to Eastern Europe, West Africa, Israel and many other places.
Anna began her relationship with God at the tender age of thirteen, when she became a member of the Unity Baptist Tabernacle Church under the pastoral care of E.W. Bowen. During her membership there, she served faithfully singing with the Choir, working with the Usher Board and sung with a Trio Group.
Anna completed many home-study courses through “Amazing Facts”, and she began to realize that Sunday was not the Sabbath, according to God’s word.
After visiting the First White Plains SDA church, she decided to become a member in 1985. Anna served many departments-Choir, Community Service, Usher Board and Deaconess Board. In her later years she helped with the Little Jewel Adventures Club as a Counselor.
Known as Anna, Auntie, GrannyGran, she leaves to mourn her departing-husband, Robert Brown; two sons-Arthur and Edwin Terry; Three Grandsons-Derrick, Edwin and Max Terry. Two great-grandsons-M’Kachi and Kolia Terry: Four great-granddaughters-Antoinette, Desiree, Micah and Takaylia Terry; One great-great-granddaughter Serenity Ramsey.
She also leaves to mourn the oldest nephew-Robert Murray; A host of nieces and nephews and her wonderful church family and friends.
