Obituary for
Fiordalisa "Chi Chi" Salcedo
Our beloved, beautiful, brilliant Fiordalisa passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26th, 2018. She was full of life, and was fearless and strong. Her tenacity and strength was beyond measure, despite her constant battle with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) since the age of 16. Her medical doctors always predicted the the worst, but with hope and faith she stayed positive and was determined to persevere. She always said the “never give up on trying to meet your full potential”.
Because of her illness, her resume was wide ranging. Many of her accomplishments included working as a Logistics Coordinator and Customer Service management, as well as earning her Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Project management in 2015. She was a teaching fellow, tutoring business courses in Devry (Marketing, Business Plan, English Literature), she did student orientation presentations, she was a New York State Licensed Real Estate Agent Incredibly she worked on obtaining her MBA despite her struggles by interrupted bouts of illness. She continued to be determined and had big dreams. She was very proud of herself obtaining this goal. What was even more amazing was her attitude, even after experiencing two mild strokes, and several near death experiences including two renal failures, she managed to stay optimistic and determined to not give up and continue the battle.
She shared her story to help and inspire others. She embarked on a positive transformation after receiving her kidney transplant in 2011. She developed a passion for living healthy though fitness and Paleo diet. Such a great fun spirit she was - she became a pole athlete meeting wonderful people and gaining esteemed friendships in the pole dancing community. She was on channel 5 news in Florida when DR Oz came to do a show on health and fitness. Fior had a dry sense of humor and was the type of person who was direct and told you how it is, was very loyal, loving, responsible and caring friend. Her family was also the center of her life. She brightened up any social gathering with her beautiful smile and wit. She was unique. She was the best sister, daughter, cousin, niece, friend in the world. She loved the finer things in life and could appreciate the gifts of life.
Fiordalisa was very loved and esteemed by her family. She was survived by her parents Renee Salcedo and Lionel Salcedo, sisters Aida, Alina, Stephanie, brothers Leonel, Manuel, and Lionel. She also leaves behind many caring relatives and friends. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of everyone who knew her.
